Environmentally Responsible
The Walton Company, from its inception, has been committed to producing products that are inherently earth friendly.

ProtectoMat® is a classic example of this commitment. ProtectoMats® combine utilitarian and aesthetic qualities in a product that is manufactured from environmentally efficient materials.

Cork is the bark of a variety of oak tree from which the outer layer has been cyclically harvested for hundreds of years, without harm to the ancient trees. The ProtectoMat® surface material is made of cork derived from trimmings produced in wine cork manufacturing.

Trimming of bark from the tree actually enhances the life of the cork tree.
Similarly, the superior hardboard used as the base for ProtectoMats® is manufactured from by-products of the building industry. These two recycled materials are permanently laminated with a waterproof bond, providing the extra strength and durability found only in the Original ProtectoMat®.

We all know that consumer packaging is the source of a large percentage of today's pollution and much of the waste material being placed in landfill disposal sites today. Rather than packaging ProtectoMats® in wasteful consumer packaging, The Walton Company has made a conscious effort to offer our products to the retail consumers in permanent, self-merchandising displays. These display fixtures provide the information and graphics needed at the point-of-purchase, with a minimum of consumer packaging.
